Project Terrapin and four years of derelict crab pots.

We've just completed four years of derelict crab pot retrieval at Barnegat Bay, NJ. Overall, MATES pulled 850 crab pots, while our total for the project involving all partners were 2165 derelict pieces of fishing gear (almost all crab pots). This project was coordinated by the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey with Stockton University, MATES and local fishermen as partners. We will be publishing a report and other informational pieces as we wind down the grant cycle!
